Today we will enjoy aspects of Uzbek culture. Tashkent has a history of more than 2200 years. “Tchach” (the former name of the city) was an important trade and cultural center in Central Asia, welcoming caravans of the Silk Road. During the Shaybanid dynasty in the 16th century, large madrasas and mosques were built, marking the city’s golden age: the Hazrat Imam Complex, including the Barak Khan Madrasa (16th century), the old Jami Mosque (Friday Mosque), which is still active today, and the Mausoleum of Kaffal Chachi – a pilgrimage site containing the grave of a great philosopher, poet, and doctor of Islam who lived in the 10th century; the Great Chorsu Bazaar, beautiful and very typical.

Tashkent Metro, the first in Central Asia, is unique in that each of its stations was decorated by the country’s greatest artists according to specific themes: cotton, the Uzbek poet Alisher Navoi, and more.

Panoramic tour: Amir Timur Square, Independence Square, Theater Square, etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.

The Registan Square, the most famous symbol of Uzbekistan. Its three madrasas – Ulugh Beg Madrasa (15th century), Tilla-Kari Madrasa (17th century), and Sher-Dor Madrasa (17th century) – still define the square today. (Registan means “sandy place,” but it is now paved.)

The Bibi-Khanym Mosque was built by Tamerlane in the 15th century as the largest Friday mosque in Central Asia for his favorite wife. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Kyrgyzstan vs. Uzbekistan: What to Expect?

While both countries are in Central Asia, they offer different experiences:

Kyrgyzstan – A land of mountains, lakes, and nomadic culture. Expect outdoor adventures, traditional yurts, and rugged landscapes. The climate varies, with cool temperatures in the mountains.

Uzbekistan – A historical treasure trove with ancient cities, grand mosques, and vibrant bazaars. It has a dry, hot climate, especially in summer. Expect more urban experiences with rich cultural heritage.

What to Pack for the Tour?

Since this trip covers diverse climates and terrains, packing properly is key.

✔ Clothing – Pack layered clothing for cooler weather in Kyrgyzstan and light, breathable outfits for Uzbekistan.
✔ Footwear – Comfortable walking shoes for city tours and sturdy shoes for nature excursions.
✔ Sun Protection – Sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, and a hat (especially for Uzbekistan’s sunny weather).
✔ Personal Documents – Passport, printed visas (if required), travel insurance.
✔ Health & Medications – Basic first aid, personal medications, and hand sanitizer.
✔ Cash – While credit cards are accepted in major Uzbek cities, it’s best to carry cash (USD or local currency) for smaller purchases, especially in Kyrgyzstan.

Additional Travel Tips

✅ Cultural Respect – Both countries are conservative, so dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites.
✅ Local Cuisine – Expect meat-heavy dishes like plov (Uzbekistan) and beshbarmak (Kyrgyzstan). Vegetarians should plan accordingly.
