day 1

Dushanbe-Kalaikumb (300 km)

Early morning transfer to Kalaikumb via birthplace of the president of Tajikistan village Kuyab. We cross several passes 3000m altitude to reach the local border of badahshinsky area for passport control registration. Picnic on the way. Keep our ways along Pandj River departing Tajikistan and Afghanistan. Full life is concentrated on the other side of the river. You will enjoy seeing kishlaks on the slopes of the mountains, local people worn in traditional clothes crossing the magnificent Pamir Mountains with donkeys as many years ago.

Dinner in local chaickana. Overnight in local guesthouse with minimum comfort.

day 2

Kalaikumb-Khorog (242 km)

Interactive part of crossing Afghan border. Sky peaks of Pamir Mountains over 6000m, waterfalls crossing the road, all the nature atmosphere makes the cross exotic and good lunch with the view on Afghanistan makes it unforgettable. Walk in kishlaks (village). Dinner in local restaurant.  Overnight in hotel.

day 3

Khorog

In the morning, we will visit botanical garden.  It’s located in 2 km from right side of Chadra river. It is one of the highest gardens in the world. Walking. After it we return to Khorog, and we visit a museum, where we can get acquainted with modern and ancient history of Pamir region. Then we go for a walk in the city park. Dinner in restaurant. Night in hotel.

day 4

Horog– Ichkachim– Langar (226km)

In the morning transfer to Yamg village. Slowly we enter to Wakhan region. We stop in Ishkashim in order to see colorful Afghan bazaar in Irkeshtam, only on Sundays border guards open the gates for Tajik side. Transfer to Yamg village, where we are invited by hospitable Pamir’s Tajik family. We will experience colder unusual architecture of Pamir Tajik’s houses, its way of life, culture peculiarities.

Dinner in national style. Overnight in guest house.

day 5

Langar- Lac Bulunkul (3914m) (160 km) 

In the morning rise up to Hargosh pass (4344) where there is snow even in summer. Border control. Picnic. Transfer to Bulunkul Lake. The area if famous for its temperature there was reordered the lowest temperature -63 C in all Central Asia. It’s good place for trekking, watching birds and yaks, moon “landscapes”, pictorial views, magnificent sunsets.

Overnight at local people.

day 6

Bulunkul-Murgab-Karakul lake (260km)

In the morning, we visit Jashilkul lake 3800m, we walk towards the lake, then transfer to Murgab. Lunch. Transfer to Karakul Lake (3914m). You will have unforgettable impressions. Walk along lake. Acquaintance with local people. Picnic.

Dinner and overnight in local house.

day 7

Karakul– Kyzyl-Art-Sary Tash (140 km)

In the morning transfer to Sary tash. Border formalities. We cross Kyzyl-Art pass 4280m. Beautiful road over 3000 m leads you to Sary Tash village. In good weather we can see Lenin peak 7134 m. Walking. Lunch, Dinner and night in local house.

day 8

Sary Tash-Osh (180km)

In the morning transfer to Osh city.  We cross Taldyk pass 3619, Chiyryk pass 2408m.  Overcome all passes we appear in Fergana valley, which is very green and rich of life. Lunch on the way. Evening city tour in Osh city. We visit grot museum, then we walk on holy mountain Solomon. Dinner in Uzbek family. Overnight in hotel.

Border Crossing Information

Since this tour involves crossing the land border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, here’s what you need to know:
✔ Passports & Visas – Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Depending on your nationality, a visa for Tajikistan (and a GBAO permit if visiting the Pamirs) may be required.
✔ Border Procedures – Land crossings can take from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on traffic and security checks. Stay patient and follow the instructions of your guide and border officials.
✔ Customs Regulations – Be aware of restrictions on certain goods, including medicines, drones, and large amounts of cash. It’s best to check updated regulations before travel.

What to Pack for the Tour?      

As you will be traveling through remote areas, high-altitude passes, and varying climates, proper packing is essential.

✔ Personal Documents – Passport, visa printouts, travel insurance.
✔ Clothing – Layered clothing, a warm jacket (for high altitudes), comfortable hiking shoes, a hat & gloves (for cold regions), and a rainproof jacket.
✔ Sun Protection – Sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen, lip balm, and a hat.
✔ Health & Medication – Personal medications, altitude sickness pills (if needed), first-aid kit, hand sanitizer, and wet wipes.
✔ Cash – Credit cards are not widely accepted in remote areas, so bring enough cash (USD or local currency) for personal expenses.
✔ Snacks & Water Bottle – While meals are provided, having extra snacks, nuts, and a reusable water bottle is recommended.
